I’m Terae King Jr., a proud Flint resident, public servant, and graduate of the University of Michigan-Flint.
Flint is home, and my commitment to our community is personal.
I was elected to the Flint Board of Education in 2022 with a belief that strong leadership requires listening, asking the right questions, building relationships, and being accountable to the people you serve.
My commitment to education extends beyond Flint. I was appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to serve on the Michigan State Teacher Tenure Commission, giving me the opportunity to serve public education at both the local and state levels. I also serve on the Dort Financial Credit Union Governance Committee, furthering my experience in organizational governance and community leadership.
Professionally, I serve as a Field Operations Consultant with McDonald’s Corporation, bringing experience in leadership, operations, organizational performance, and developing people. I’m also continuing my education at the University of Michigan-Flint, where I am pursuing an MBA and a Master of Science in Leadership and Organizational Dynamics.
Across every role I serve in, my approach is the same: show up, serve people, and leave things better than you found them.
I’m proud to call Flint home, and I’m committed to helping build a stronger future for the generations coming behind us.
